Info Troop focus Philosophy: A boy run troop, Troop 540 provides
youth an opportunity to grow mentally, physically, and socially, and to build
character, foster citizenship, and develop leadership through a diverse and
dynamic program. Outings and
Activities. Troop 540 offers a full range of scouting activities including
weekly Troop meetings, monthly weekend outings, service projects to the
community, a full week of Summer Camp, and an annual high adventure activity. Outdoor activities embrace the
complete scouting experience including: skiing and winter sports, white water
rafting, field sports, pioneering, Maize Quest, Klondike, hiking and
backpacking, theme parks, historic sites, battleship overnight, Splashdown,
fishing, and beach camping. In
addition for older scouts, annual High Adventure experiences include Florida
Sea Base (2006), Philmont (2007), and Northern Tier (2008). How to recognize us? Look for the Orange.
The Troop meets every Tuesday, except in August, at the Johns Hopkins
Applied Physics Laboratory, in
